Lynn Nominated As People's Choice Awards Favorite Country
Female Singer
Superstar Named One Of GQ's Women of the Year

TN – Capping off a year filled with accolades and acclaim,
superstar Loretta Lynn garners a career-best five Grammy
nominations for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards announced
today. With the most nominations of any country artist,
Lynn’s categories include Best Country Album (Van Lear
Rose), Best Country Song (“Portland, Oregon” and “Mrs. Being
Miss”), Best Country Collaboration (“Portland, Oregon”) and
Best Country Female Vocal Performance (“Miss Being Mrs.”).
“I was shocked and excited when I heard about the
nominations ‘cause I hadn’t got this many before in the same
year,” said Lynn. “It really was a collaboration with me and
Jack. I’m just so happy to be nominated with him.”
Lynn previously won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal
Performance by a Duo or Group with duet partner Conway
Twitty for “After The Fire Is Gone” at the 14th Annual
Grammy Awards in 1971.
Lynn's critically-acclaimed Van Lear Rose [Interscope] is
being hailed as one of the year's best albums in multiple
national publications including Blender (# 3, Dec. issue),
Newsweek (# 10, Dec. 13 issue) GQ (# 6, Dec. issue), Tracks
(# 3, Dec. issue) and Details (# 4, Dec. issue).
In addition to being recently nominated for the People
Choice Awards Favorite Female Country Singer, GQ recognized
Lynn's undeniable impact across all genre's of music in 2004
naming her one of its Women of the Year. Other celebrities
included in GQ's prestigious Women of the Year list are Kate
Winslet, Uma Thurman, Maria Sharapova and Gwen Stefani.
Comprised of 13 self-penned songs, Van Lear Rose garnered
Lynn's highest career sales debut entering Billboard's Top
200 at # 24 and Country Album chart at # 2.
The 47th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from
Los Angeles on February 13 from 8:00-11:30 pm EST on CBS.
