Merle Haggard.
Loretta first met Ray in Blaine, WA while playing a small
bar prior to her first record or coming to Nashville. Ray
and Loretta had a chance to catch up when they both played
recently in Oshkosh, WI. Loretta considers Ray Price one of
the greatest performers of all time!

LORETTA LYNN JOINS SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME

Loretta Lynn, one of country music’s most unique talents,
was added last night to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New
York, where she’s enshrined alongside such disparate talents
as traditional pop legend Cole Porter, rock great Bob Dylan,
pop composer Burt Bacharach and Motown icon Smokey Robinson.

HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

Once a year, New York City hosts a grand celebration of the
art of songwriting. Each time around, the Songwriters Hall
of Fame -- founded in 1969 by songwriter Johnny Mercer and
currently chaired by Burt Bacharach's famed writing partner,
lyricist Hal David -- leaves the flashy sets and gaudy glitz
to the Grammys and honors another batch of esteemed
songwriters at a classy, but cool, induction ceremony.
